You Must Know That It Is God's Will To Heal Today

by Greg Casto on 03/29/16

One of the greatest hindrances to many receiving their healing, or that keeps people from praying for other's healing, is the fact that they do not know if it is God's will to heal today. They believe that Christ healed people all those years ago when He walked the earth, but they are not convinced that He is willing to heal today. There are Christians who have given in to being sick, having a handicap, or suffering with disease because they think these things are God's will for them and that they are suffering for His glory.

It is of utmost importance for us to first prepare the hearts of people to receive their healing by teaching them the truths in the Word of God concerning healing. We never teach doctrines or traditions of men concerning healing, but the unadulterated, undiluted, uncompromised Word of the living God. When full revelation of God's will comes, based on the Word, the spiritual atmosphere is ready and faith is imparted to believe and receive healing.

"Wherever healing is taught as God's provision for all, faith is always imparted and the people are always healed. This method never fails."
~ T. L. Osborn (from his book Healing The Sick)

Many people can not believe God for their healing until they get rid of a lot of preconceived ideas and wrong teachings that they have heard concerning healing and God's will to heal today. There are many unscriptural teachings that have been taught for years such as, God uses sickness as a chastisement to teach a person, or to perfect something in their life. Others have taught that sickness is a result of sin in a person's life, or if a person suffering from sickness or disease and is not healed, it may be that God is using that sickness or disease, and that somehow through their suffering, they are glorifying God, and nothing could be further from the truth.
Because of these untruths and misleadings of these ideas produced by man, we must first lay the foundation based upon the truth of God's Word before we pray for the sick, and teach them that it IS God's will to heal today!
The truth is, God does not receive glory from pain and suffering! He receives glory when faith is released and His divine healing power is released to alleviate pain and remove sickness and disease. God does NOT send sickness and disease upon people, and we know this because it is contrary to God's divine nature. He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price, to take our sins and bear our sicknesses upon His own body, so that we can be free from them!

     God's Word is clear:
"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows, yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed" ~ Isaiah 53:4-5

With His stripes - the stripes Jesus bore on His back at the whipping post at Calvary - we ARE healed! Because of Jesus, divine healing was provided in redemption for God's children once and for all.
Jesus broke the power of sin, sickness, and death which is the curse brought upon mankind because of the sin and fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God sent Jesus to pay the price for their sin and, therefore, our sin, taking our sins, sicknesses and disease upon His own body so that we can be free from them. Why would He take that which He redeemed us from through so much pain and anguish, and put it back upon us, His blood bought children?
Just like Jesus was the redemption price for our souls, He is the redemption price for our healing. He stands ready to forgive and heal all those who come to Him in faith. He forgives ALL our iniquities and heals ALL our diseases! As the psalmist David, who knew God intimately, said,
"Bless the Lord, O my soul...who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases ~ Psalm 103:2-3

"He sent His Word, and healed them..." ~ Psalm 107:20
